Affinity Living Lancaster Wharf: June 2023 Update

Select Property Group's Lancaster Wharf site is underway.

The site will deliver 266 one and two-bedroom apartments once work completes in 2025.

Contractor Torsion started works earlier in the month to introduce the foundational piling following months of demolition and repair works to the canal and reinforcements to protect neighbouring sites.

The site will feature a series of linked buildings of six to 23 storeys, one that positively reactivates the canalside to cater to the demands of the Birmingham rental market.

Offering large, contemporary living spaces, with new hybrid ways of living and working for young professionals, LW will feature floor-to-ceiling windows and fully integrated high-spec kitchens, in addition to a multitude of amenities.

These include a state-of-the-art gym, a 6th-floor internal and external terrace, basement cycle storage, co-working spaces, a resident’s & TV lounge, plus a spacious waterfront garden courtyard.

Once complete, Affinity Living Lancaster Wharf will become the fifth property in the Affinity Living by Select Property brand, and its first in Birmingham.

The scheme has been designed by Corstorphine + Wright Architects.

Affinity Living Lancaster Wharf Moves Closer to Construction

As our images show, the demolition of the former Police Stores Building at 5 Princip Street, has been completed.

The site will soon deliver 'Lancaster Wharf' - a major placemaking build-to-rent (BTR) development comprising 266 homes, within builds ranging from six to 23 storeys.

Left standing on site is a historic ornate gateway, which is now being carefully dismantled brick-by-brick before it'll be stored away and reinstalled at a later date.

Once the site is cleared, a major build-to-rent (BTR) development will be built from Select Property Group's Affinity Living brand, offering 266 new homes.

A series of linked buildings of six to 23-storeys will be built around a reactivated canal side to cater to the demands of the Birmingham rental market.

Offering large, contemporary living spaces, with new hybrid ways of living and working, Lancaster Wharf will feature floor-to-ceiling windows and fully integrated high-spec kitchens, in addition to a multitude of amenities.

With a contractor lined up, demolition imminent, and apartments now being marketed, new renderings of the development have been unveiled in recent days.

The build-to-rent scheme, from Select Property Group’s Affinity Living brand, will feature a series of linked buildings of six to 23-storeys, positively reactivating the canal-side plot to cater to the demands of the Birmingham rental market.

With a contractor appointed, to facilitate the start of works, a historic ornate gateway will be dismantled brick-by-brick, stored, and reinstalled at a later date, while the wider site, which includes the former Police Stores Building, will be demolished in the coming months ahead.
