THE DEVELOPMENT

Lower Essex Square is a 628 build-to-rent (BTR) development at the heart of the city's vibrant Gay Village.

Three new buildings of eight, 12, and 27 storeys (98m) will be built, comprising one- to three-bedroom apartments (450 86sqm), with 31 affordable units.

Over 20,000K SF of ground-level amenity and commercial spaces will complement the scheme – including discounted space for a local LGBT charity.

Residents will have access to two internally landscaped courtyards, a clubhouse, large winter and podium gardens, terraces, and a ninth-floor terrace on the tower.

A new public square will also be delivered along with tree-lined boulevards linking Hurst Street to Lower Essex Street, with a further lime tree-lined link on Sherlock Street.

Given the proximity to a well-used cycle highway, 644 cycles will be incorporated into the scheme, with 24 vehicles, six disabled, and five electric vehicle bays.
