Crown Works - April 2023 Update

The Gunsmith Quarter, the dark sheep of Birmingham, is coming on strong, with once tired, derelict plots now being transformed into thriving new communities. 

With 203 high-spec apartments and penthouses, this is Crown Works.

Crown Works, on Hanley Street, is Mitsubishi Estate’s (Europa Capital) forward-funding build to rent debut in Birmingham.

Close to both the Central Business District and to Snow Hill station and tram stop, Crown Works will soon offer:

• 203 high-spec one- to three-bedroom apartments & penthouses;
• Four new buildings of 4-8 storeys (138K SF);
• 5.9K SF of high-quality amenities;
• Contemporary design offering an enhanced interpretation of the GQ.

With works progressing, homes will be set around a raised courtyard, with facilities including a concierge, two gardens, terraces, dining and meeting rooms, a gym, and WFH areas.

These will no doubt prove attractive to prospective renters looking for a new home so close to work.

Complementing the scheme and adding an outward touch to provide additional vitality to the area will be two flexible commercial units, totalling 3.7K SF.

The Construction of The Crown Works, Gun Quarter - June 2022

They say that the Jewellery Quarter is the cool kid of Birmingham, but don’t discount the dark sheep of the city: the Gun Quarter.

Many good-quality developments are now springing up around the area, including The Crown Works, a major BTR development now underway.

Located on Hanley Street and Lower Loveday Street, The Crown Works is a 203-apartment scheme entirely for rent (View the site map HERE)

Led by Europa Capital and White Ink Architects, the new placemaking community will reinforce the area through a contemporary, contextual design offering an enhanced interpretation of the area.

With groundworks ramping up on site and a crane due any time now, The Crown Works will be arranged in four blocks of four to eight storeys, with each one, two & three-bedroom apartment designed to a high specification, across 138K SF of space.

With renters in Birmingham wanting good quality living spaces and amenities aplenty, The Crown Works offers that in abundance.

There will be up to 5,900K SF of attractive facilities on offer, with all apartments set around a raised courtyard, with concierge services, shared gardens, terraces, dining and meeting rooms, a state-of-the-art gymnasium, as well as co-working areas for those WFH, all on offer.
