The development

The Gem Works is a four-storey residential and commercial development of 37 new homes and a manufacturing studio for a 200- year old Jewellery Quarter institution.

The Gem Works is made up of two elements: 37 one- and two-bedroom apartments and duplexes (41- 103sqm), a commercial unit, 20% affordability, and a rear courtyard offering 48 cycles; and a new build replacement manufacturing studio for Charles Green and Son. Their new premises, replacing their old ones on the site deemed too big for their current operations and will be demolished, ultimately safeguarding their long-term future in the city.
